TL;DR
MISSA is short for McGill Information Studies Student Association. As the president of the Association, I helped with many things, one being designing our logo. Earlier, it used to be a simple "MISSA" wordmark and was last updated in 2018. I thought it was time for a change.
Highlights
Maintained similar typography (typeface) as used in McGill University's logo.
Included McGill Martlet and Arts Building in the logo.
Logo was accepted by majority of the student council.
INTRODUCTION
McGill Information Studies Student Association
MISSA is the official student body of the School of Information Studies (SIS) at McGill University.
Mandate
To co-ordinate the activities of the students of the McGill School of Information Studies and to ensure representation of student interests in the school, in the university, and in the library and information profession.

My Role
I was the president of MISSA from Fall 2021 to Winter 2022. In my tenure, I initiated and helped organize several events, including Orientation, Student Town Hall, Career Fair, End of Year Party, a Discord server for the SIS community and more!
All things need to be revised from time to time. MISSA had been using a logo, a simple wordmark, since 2018. Although effective in communicating who we are, I felt it lacked some punch. In March 2022, I thought our logo could use some re-imagination and voila! I designed MISSA's new logo. Though it is up to the next student council whether they want to use it or not, I wanted to showcase it as part of my design work.
PREVIOUS LOGO
A simple yet effective wordmark.
REDESIGNED LOGO
Including McGill Martlet and Arts Building
